Project Description
Constructed as part of the Belgrade Waterfront development, the Vidikovac Pedestrian Bridge spans the Sava River in front of the Kula Belgrade building and is designed to serve as a new landmark in the city.
The bridge features a 116-meter-long curved steel girder structure with no columns in the water and cantilevers nearly 20 meters over the river. It consists of seven steel modules forming a pedestrian pathway with a variable width — approximately 4 meters in the middle and up to 5 meters near the concrete abutments.
All steel components were fabricated at DOKA Industry’s production facility in Hendek, Sakarya. After surface preparation and painting, the blocks — ranging in length from 6 to 24 meters — were transported by trucks to a pre-assembly site in Belgrade. There, the modules were assembled, touch-up painted, and then transported via barge over the Sava River for final installation using a floating crane and temporary piers.
Upon completion of the installation and release from temporary supports, the bridge was opened to public use in April 2024.
